"Training taught me what to look for in a fighter's posture, expression, and timing. That perspective shows up in every piece I make."
— Wes Greene
I Paint the World I Train In
My name is Wes Greene. I'm an artist, an amateur fighter, and an aspiring Muay Thai coach. I focus on fighter portraits because this is the community I know best.
I found Muay Thai pretty late in life, but it quickly became a major focus. The discipline, rhythm, and constant learning in training gave me a new way to see movement and expression.
The Art Grew Out of Training
I've always drawn and painted. Once I started training seriously, my subject became clear. I began sketching training partners, bringing a sketchbook to events, and studying fight footage. I became especially interested in the small expressions that show concentration and pressure.
Charcoal felt natural right away because of its speed and contrast. Oil came later when I wanted more color and texture in certain pieces.
Training, Coaching, and Painting
Today I continue to compete as an amateur while developing as a coach in the gym. Coaching has sharpened my eye for movement, nuance, and body language. That same attention carries into every commission.
When someone shares reference photos, I'm not only studying facial features. I'm also looking at stance, hands, and posture so the final portrait feels true to them.
Why Commission Me
There are many great portrait artists. If you want a fighter portrait made by someone with training experience, that's where I can offer something different. My goal is to capture both accuracy and personality.
I take a limited number of commissions each month to ensure every piece gets the time and attention it deserves. Charcoal drawings start at $150. Full oil paintings start at $800. Every commission includes reference consultation, progress updates, and my genuine investment in making something you'll hang on your wall for decades.
